Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months you should be aware that there’s a new edition of Warhammer 40k right around the corner.
The Edinburgh League of Gamers are partnering with Battle Brothers to run a Warhammer 40k Launch event to celebrate the new edition that is set to release on the 17th of June.
From everything we are hearing from Games Workshop’s social media channels and news articles, it sounds like this is going to be quite a big shake up of the rules. Bringing possibly the biggest changes we have seen to the core rules in a long time.
A Whole Sunday Gaming Event in Edinburgh
Our launch event will be on the Sunday following the new Warhammer 40k rule book release (that’s Sunday the 18th of June, for those that hadn’t figured it out). This gives people a day to pick up their books, digest some of the rules and work out a rough army list. We’re not going to be going for anything overly competitive, this is more of a fun ‘getting to know the rules’ type of event.
We’ll also have a dedicated hobby area set up for those that want to crack open their new box and get building or want to work on some other projects.
We’re aiming for smaller games initially that people can then choose to build up once we have a better understanding of the new rules.
Tickets for the Warhammer 40k Launch Event
This will be a ticketed event at the cost of £10 per person when bought in advance or £15 on the day. That covers you for a day’s worth of gaming, Lunch and entry into prize draws on the day as well as Entry into the Battle Brother’s Dark Imperium Giveaway competition. We are looking to get a good idea for the headcount (it helps when ordering food etc), therefore we’d appreciate it if people were to buy their tickets online.
